This is the first post on the new look Design Elements

Online since 2000, it was definitly time to update Design Elements. Technology moves on and the old site was way behind the times. It is quite easy to coast once you have a site online, particularly if it’s a showcase rather than a selling platform or an interactive website.

Thre are drivers that everyone with a website should take note of, often it is Google. They establish a new rules that will have an impact on search engine optimisation. The first one I remember was when ‘frames’ were out of fashion (boxes that formed the framework and content of a website), it became all about the CSS (Cascading Style Sheet, reams of code that tell every element how it should look and where it belongs). One change that got us in a flap was when they decided that if your site is not ‘responsive’ (looks good on PC, laptop, tablet and phone), then it would not be indexed (looked at by the bots and would therefore slip down the ranking to oblivion).

This new look is in-keeping with it’s sister website Logopro.
